English Schools Junior Boys 1500m Champion - 1977. Represented England Schools Team at SIAB Championships 1977, 1978, 1979. Equalled Colin Clarkson's UK Age 15 best for 3000m from 1976 when running 8.32.0 at Stretford in 1978. Began coaching in 2004 and coached Sam Dykes (800m 2009), Harry Ellis (XC 2010) and Carys McAulay (800m 2014) to ESAA titles. Coach to Warrington AC National team title winners at 2006 (U15) and 2008 (U17) National XC relays and 2010 (U20) National XC team titles. Coached several England, Scotland and English Schools internationals at both track and cross country events. Harry Ellis and Carys McAulay have both competed at Team GB level at the World Junior Championships, in 2010 Harry Ellis competed over 1500m and 2015 Carys McAulay finished in 4th place at the 800m in the World Youth Championships and 2nd at the Commonwealth Youth Game representing Scotland. Currently coaches a mixed group of athletes from 12 years old to masters athletes competing over 100m to cross country/road running. Current group include Nick Jones, England Masters representative and former GB half marathon athlete and Andrew Green, International marathon representative and World Aged 52 record holder for 5km and 10km road events.
