On some occasions a sprint performance may be listed with the mark suffixed by a 'w' meaning wind assisted even if no actual wind speed recording was made.
This denotation will be used when it is believed that performances may have been wind assisted beyond the legal measurement of 2.0m/s. This occurrence will be rare and no decision will be taken without the judgement and advice of key technical officials that would have been present on that occasion. In each or any issue of this type UKA is the arbiter of whether a performance is then ranked on Power of 10 with or without this denotation.
Combined Events.
From 2024, combined event wind assisted scores will be calculated as follows:
At least one of the following conditions shall be satisfied:
a. The velocity in any individual event shall not exceed plus 4 metres per second.
b. The average velocity (based on the algebraic sum of the wind velocities, as measured for each individual event, divided by the number of such events) shall not exceed plus 2 metres per second.
